Our "Scrappy" Friends!

Welcome!

Hello fellow scrapbookers!!! Welcome to "Lasting Memories" which is all about LAYOUTS!! Yes, JUST layouts! There are no cards allowed here. Find us on all the social media networks and follow us so you don't miss a thing. We have weekly themed challenges, but you have the whole month to get in on the fun! Our challenges begin each Sunday at 8am EST and all 4 challenges will end on the date listed on the sidebar at 6pm EST. At month's end, we will have a prize pack for one lucky person and choose a GDT to join us for a month! Enter all 4 challenges for 4 chances to win! One entry per challenge please! No back-linking is appreciated, for we would love to know that we "Challenged" you. We look forward to challenging you and helping you get your pages completed!

Specialized Hosting Sites

A lot of crafters use specialized hosting sites that not all of us have access to. We just wanted to let you know that if we don't comment, it's because we don't have access - but we see your work here at LM and appreciate your taking the time to link up and show off your style!!

Creative Thinking With Kelli - Making Handmade Flowers

Making Handmade Paper Flowers is one of my favorite things to do.  I hope you find the following helpful.

Punch 2 scalloped circles.
Fold in half then fold in half again so you have 4 equal quarters.
Cut one fold into the centre.
Fold in between each scallop in an accordion pattern.
Glue your two folded pieces together to form one circle.
attach an embellishment of your choice to the middle.

Peonies are beautiful full flowers that start as tight balls, which are opened with the help of ants and other insects in your garden, and open into stunning soft flowers.

You need three scalloped circles (size depends on you size preferance-the larger the circle the larger the flower) and one strip of paper scalloped at the top.

punch or free hand cut your scalloped circles (3)
at this point if you wish you can sponge colour onto your flower

Cut inwards between each petal

take a rounded tool, I just used a kitchen spoon and start at the outside of the petal (laying on a soft work matt or a mouse pad) and pull inward, it will round the petal upwards and in toward the centre

take the flower in your hand and squish the petals inward toward the centre and release

use the same technique with your tool or spoon to curl the petals on the straight paper, then petal by petal tool the straight paper to the end. place one round flower on your work surface, put a drop of your favorite glue ( mine is liquid glass by Close to My Heart ) in the bottom of the flower, set in your next flower, more glue, your third flower, more glue then your rolled piece. Again squish your flower together and hold it for a minute.

Then you have a lovely Paper Peony for you next project!
