LM #607 - Opposites Attract - New and Old

Hello, hello! Welcome back to Lasting Memories. We are so happy that you have stopped by today! July is moving right along and it is time for a new challenge.

For July our theme is "Opposites Attract" and it's all about including opposites on your layout. This week DT member Tracey is challenging us to use something new and something old on our layouts.

LM #607 - Create a layout with new and old. It might be a newborn with an older relative or comparing an old look with a new one or using both old and new products.

For something old I used my creative memories cutting system (that I bought in 2008)-to cut and mat my photos. For something new, I included pictures of the newest member of our family-my grandson.

July GDT - Jessica

I used Heidi Swapp's new Sun Chaser collection with old embellishments.

I used paper from a new collection kit from Echo Park called Summertime and all of my embellishments are older from my stash.

For my new, it’s the first time my son presided over the court of honor as a senior patrol leader and the old is all of the uniforms hanging behind the boys. The shirts are the scoutmaster and assistant scoutmasters from when they were boys.

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to Lasting Memories! We are so happy that you have stopped by today because it is the start of a new month and that means we have a new theme and a new set of challenges for you. It is going to be a fun month, so let's get started!

Introducing July's Guest Designers!!

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you!

Today we are introducing our guest designers for July. We have four super talented scrappers us this month and I know the inspiration is going to be plentiful! Please help us welcome Haven, Jill, Jessica, and Jamie. All four of these ladies are such amazing scrappers and I can't wait to share their beautiful work with you every week in July. Let's get to know them a little better.

I'm super excited to announce that I'll be a guest designer for Lasting Memories for the month of July. It seems like I'm making a guest appearance about once a year (the last time was June 2021) and am so glad to be back. I love playing along with the challenges and getting inspiration from the design team. I think their challenges are some of the best but I might be biased as I'm a former DT ( 2013-2017). This year I'm on a DT over at Use Your Stuff and can be found on my blog on a semi-regular basis.

I live in Somerset, Pennsylvania with my husband, our 23-year-old daughter, 14-year-old son, and my little grandson. I am a high school teacher and use scrapbooking as my creative outlet. I have been crafting since I was a child, but in 2003 I fell in love with scrapbooking, and it has become my favorite hobby. Of course, my family photos are always my inspiration for my layouts. In 2010 I started a blog and love participating in all the fun challenges! Thank you Lasting Memories for having me as Guest Designer this month. It is a big honor for me!

Hello, my name is Jessica Shurts. I live in Minnesota with my husband and 5 kids ages 15, 13, 11, 9, and 4. I started scrapbooking when I was in high school. Between cooking meals and driving my kids to all their activities (lots of soccer and dance), I love using fun papers and products to tell my family's stories and using my Cricut to make unique embellishments and titles for my layouts. I find challenges to be a great jumping off point to get my creativity flowing. I am excited to be joining Lasting Memories for their fun challenges this month!
