LM #618 - Out of Your Comfort Zone - Tools

I can't believe that September is almost over and it is already time for our last challenge of the month! Before we get to this week's challenge, I want to say a big thank you to our guest designers for September - Brandi, and Sarah. It has been a pleasure working with both of these ladies and I have certainly enjoyed seeing their work each week.

Now, on to this week's challenge. For September our theme has been - Out of your comfort zone - and we have been challenging you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new or different this month. Our last challenge for the month is:

LM #618 - Tools - we all have tools in our craft rooms that we never use.  Perhaps you bought the latest punch board but it's still in the wrapper or your Cricut is collecting dust.  Let's pull out those tools and put them to use this week!

LM #617 - Out of Your Comfort Zone - Embellishments

Happy Sunday and welcome back to Lasting Memories! I hope that you have had a good week and are ready for a new challenge!

For September our theme has been - Out of Your Comfort Zone - and we have been challenging you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new or different than what you normally do. This week's challenge is:

LM #617 - Embellishments - We tend to stick to the same embellishments on our layouts.  Perhaps you use mostly stickers and chipboard but rarely use wood veneer.  Maybe you're obsessed with enamel dots and don't use flair or washi.  For this week, choose embellishments that you rarely use.

I used washi tape, circles, enamel dots, and a recycled tag for my different embellishments.

I used two things that I typically don't reach for - jute twine and metal charms!

LM #616 - Out Of Your Comfort Zone - Patterns

 Hello and welcome back to Lasting Memories! We are so happy that you have stopped by today! 

It is time for a new challenge and it is another fun one! Our theme for September is -  Out of your comfort zone - and we are challenging you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new or different! This week's challenge is:

 LM #616 - Pattern - think about your layouts and the patterned papers you tend to use and go outside of your comfort zone.  Do you typically begin with a solid color background or a patterned paper background? Do you tend to go with smaller patterns or large bold patterns?   For this layout, use the opposite of your normal patterns.

I typically reach for more simple patterns, such as tone on tone or basic geometric shapes, so I grabbed a larger themed icon paper for this layout.

(I tend to stay away from glittery paper, but it works for this layout.)

LM #615 - Out of Your Comfort Zone - Colors

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday to you! We are smack dab in the middle of the holiday weekend here in the US and I hope that - regardless of where you are - you are having a great weekend.

It is time for a new challenge! Our theme for September is - Out of your comfort zone - and we are challenging you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new or different. These challenges won't be too specific because each person will need to evaluate their own scrapbooking and do something different from their typical layouts. Here is this week's challenge:

LM #615 - Color - we all have colors that we dislike or find difficult to scrap with.  Perhaps yellow isn't your cup of tea, or you find purple difficult to use.  Choose a color and use it as the main color on your layout (you may include other colors as well).

I looked through my album and noticed I hadn't used much purple and not a whole lot of orange, so I pulled out this Scaredy Cat pack and made a Halloween layout with a purple background.

I rarely - almost never - use purple so this was definitely a challenge!

Orange is definitely not my favorite!

Green is not my favourite colour to use.

I don't scrap with much PURPLE!

It was a toss-up between purple and orange but finished up with purple
