Hey all!! Karen here with this weeks challenge .. October is flying us by, isn't it? What did you think of our challenge last week?? Lots of black backgrounds!! I hope we're helping some of you try a new thing here and there. We even find ourselves a little outside of our own comfort zones here on the DT. It's awesome!!! This week we want to celebrate ...
Grandparents
We'd love to hear a favourite memory if you have one to share as well. Leave us a comment. One lucky person will receive a package in the mail full of scrappy goodness! You have to play along AND leave us a comment telling us of a memory you share with your grandparents. One of mine is when I was little, we had track and field and boy, did I get a lot of ribbons that year! My grandma would walk through the park to meet me and I came flying down the hill that day yelling "Grandma, Grandma!!! Look at all my ribbons!!" She was so proud of me, gave me a huge hug and then told everyone that story and it continues to be told today.
So lets get started with some gorgeous inspiration from Claire
Can't wait to read your memories and to see your LO's this week. I know my grandparents were a very important and huge part of my life and what a way to show tribute to them.
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you find time to create with us this week!
Wow a memory that I have with my Grandma....I think there are way to many to tell you about. One lately is making pickles with my mom and my kids. We have 4 generations making pickles on a Tuesday evening. What fun! When we were kids I always remember her being there for us even if she did not want to do it. I would always get a I suppose we could do that. I love my Grandma!
We always had both sides of the family together for holidays and my favorite memory came together with both grandmothers for Christmas Eve. We always had homemade vegetable soup made by my maternal grandmother and my paternal grandmother made homemade pimento cheese and then also made tuna fish salad sandwiches and would make them with one slice white bread and one slice wheat bread per sandwich, cut off the crusts and then cut them in half diagonally. That tradition was kept till they were both in their 90's
I cant remember much about my grandma's memory I was young when she was passed away! but my kids grandma we have such a happy memory, she love to spent time with us specially on her b-day and Christmas and new years..she's such a lovely grandma with my kids...and she love to play bingo with me lol..but suddenly she just passed away this year .And my kids still looking for her where she been..So sad but she left us a full happy memory!
Hi, thanks for a great challenge. I did a page of my Dad's mum, Grace. She was there for us when we were babies, as my Mum is from the UK & had no family in Australia. Anyway, I remember Mum always telling us that Nan Grace was like a mother to her, and always had lots of cuddles for us (me & my brother) on her lap. x
