LM #368 - Scrapbook Cooking Time - Recipe #1

Hello, scrappy friends! Good Sunday morning to you! I hope that you are having a good weekend. We got our first taste of winter this weekend with cold temperatures. We went from almost 80 degrees on Thursday to about 40 degrees on Friday. Ugh! I don't think I'm ready for that cold of weather just yet!

It will soon be November and we have a new theme and a new set of challenges for you today. DT Tina is providing our challenges this month and I think you're going to like them!
Our theme for November is -  Scrapbook Cooking Time - having fun creating with some scrapbook recipes - and our first challenge is:

LM #368 - create a layout using 3 patterned papers, background stamping, a punched shape, puffy stickers, and your handwriting.

We have two fantastic guest designers joining us in November! Please help us welcome Alicia and Karrie!

Hi, I am Alicia O'Bryant, a mother, and wife who also works full time as an office manager.   I am also mom to two fur babies.  I have been crafty since childhood.  I owned a jewelry crafting business for over 20 years and have been paper crafting for almost as long.  I enjoy the city of life of Cincinnati, Ohio where I have lived for 20 years.   I love to scrapbook as well as create cards and mixed media projects.  I am currently working on my wedding album from 2013.

Here is Alicia's beautiful layout for this week's challenge:

Next, we have November GDT - Karrie

Hi, I’m Karrie, I live in Ontario, Canada, and am a full-time receptionist.  My hubby and I enjoy traveling,  motorbikes, camping/boating, and I play beach and indoor volleyball.

I started scrapping in 2001, and am lucky enough to have a space packed tight with goodies and freedom to create almost every weekend! I am so happy and honored to be chosen as a GD at Lasting Memories!

Here is Karrie's beautiful layout for this week's challenge:
I used only the recipe, just adding a few droplets of ink.

Here is a look at what the rest of the design team has created:

3 pattern papers, stamping: part of the title and the little notebook page, stars are the punched shape, Heidi Swapp puffy stickers, and my own handwriting:) a fun recipe for the layout.

Tina is offering up a $20 gift certificate to an online store to one lucky winner.  Be sure to link up your layouts by Saturday, November 25th for your chance to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you find time to create with us this week!

LM #367 - Around The House - Stamping With Something Other Than A Stamp

Hello, scrappy friends! Good Sunday morning to you! I hope that you are all having a good weekend.

We are back today with our final challenge for October. Before we get to that I want to say a big thank you to our guest designers for October. It has been a pleasure working with both Asa and June and I have really enjoyed seeing their beautiful work this month.

Our theme for October has been "Around the house" and this week's challenge is:

LM #367 - Stamp with something other than a stamp on your layout.

Get creative and see what you can come up with. Think bubble wrap, pencil eraser, toy cars, etc. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Here's a look at the design team's fabulous layouts, starting with our guest designer, Asa:

I stamped with bubble wrap on my page.

I used the wheels of a toy truck to stamp on my page

I used a Hydrangea leaf and a Maple leaf to stamp on my layout.

I used a jar lid and a pencil eraser to stamp my circles and dots.

Wow - such beautiful examples from the design team!

LM #366 - Around The House - Use a Book Page Or Sheet Music

Hello, everyone! Good Sunday morning to you! I hope that you are all having a good weekend!

We are back today with our third challenge of the month. Our theme for October has been "Around the House" and this week our challenge is:

LM #366 - Use a book page or a piece of sheet music on your layout.

Here is a look at the beautiful layouts from the design team - starting with our guest designers:

I've used a book page on my layout. This is a photo of my grandfather who should have turned 100 years old this Friday if he was still alive. So Happy Birthday Grandpa wherever you are! Me and my cousin are also in the photo.

I used a piece of sheet music as background in this layout, which was perfect for scrapbooking my trumpet-playing son's summer concert.

I used old dictionary pages on my layout...with corresponding words...dress and bride.

I punched an old dictionary page for flower embellishments and for the date.  I also added a strip as another element to the page.

Such beautiful layouts from our talented design team. I hope you have a chance to play along with us this month! Link up your layouts by October 28th for your chance to win this:

LM #365 - Around The House - Children's Artwork Or Journaling - Or Inspired By A Children's Book

Happy Sunday scrappy friends! I hope that you are having a great weekend!

We are back with our second challenge of the month and I can't wait to see what you create for it! In keeping with our - Around the House - theme, this week our challenge is:

LM #365 - Use children's artwork or journaling or be inspired by a children's book.

We have another guest designer joining us for the next couple of challenges! Please help us welcome June!

Hello! My name is June Swart, but I often go by Super Stick Chick in “blogland.”  It is so exciting being a guest designer here at Lasting Memories and working with such a talented team. I am a stay-at-home mom who lives in Minnesota and is married to her sweetheart, Jeff.

We have two wonderful teen/adult sons and one feisty cat. I love to do all sorts of paper crafting, gardening, and aerobics. I started scrapbooking as a teenager in the 1970s. Back then we scrapped mostly memorabilia – no photos. Things have really changed since then, with photos, pattern papers, and embellishments being added. I love that scrapbooking has become an art form. I play with all sorts of styles from CAS to mixed media. I also make lots of cards. If you would like to check out more of my work, please visit my blog (http://superstickchick.blogspot.com/). I’d love it if you would leave a comment if you see something in particular that you like.

I hope you feel inspired and have some fun joining us here at Lasting Memories. I can’t wait to see your creations!
     -June

Here is a look at what the design team has created - starting with our guest designers:

I´ve been inspired by a children´s book. Astrid Lindgren was a famous Swedish author and she wrote many wonderful books. One of them was "Barnen I Bullerbyn". I´ve looked for a translation of that title and only found "The children of Noisy village". But I don´t know if that is the correct translation. When I first saw this photo I directly thought about that book.

This baby shower & layout were inspired by the book 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle

I used a piece of my Grandson's artwork as the base for my layout.

I added the paper that our grandson was writing on to the layout

We are offering up a prize this month. Link up your layouts by October 28th for your chance to win this:

LM #364 - Around the House - Fabric Scraps

Good Sunday morning scrappy friends! Happy October 1st! Can you believe we are already in October! The holidays will be here before we know it!

A new month means a new theme and a new set of challenges here at Lasting Memories. This month DT Wendy is providing our challenges for us and I personally cannot wait to see your layouts. Our theme for October is "Around the House" and this first week's challenge is:

LM #364 - Fabric Scraps - use fabric scraps on your layout.

A new month means that we also have a new guest designer joining us. Please help us welcome Asa Johannson as our guest designer.

Hi!
My name is Åsa Johansson and I´m so happy and proud for being a GD here at Lasting Memories for this month's challenges.  I love this blog and their challenges. Thank you for having me!
I´m 41 years old and live in Sweden with my family ( my hubby and our 3 children and a dog ) and I work as a teacher in Swedish and Math.
I´ve been scrapbooking since 2007 when I was pregnant with our twin girls and I couldn´t work. Actually, I started with cardmaking. I love this hobby. It makes me calm and happy. You can say I´m addicted to it but I don´t have any intentions to stop. My style is mostly CAS. I love to work with a white background and I use a lot of mist and thread on my pages. Pink is a color I love and often use.
You would do my day if you visit my blog and say hi, https://scrapatheltenkelt.blogspot.se/
I hope you got some inspiration from me and this fabulous design team. I love to see what you´ll come up with.
Hugs, Åsa

Now here is a look at what the design team's beautiful layouts, starting with our guest designer, Asa:

I have used a piece of jeans fabric on my layout.

I had an old pair of plaid shorts that I was about to toss out and
I realized that the fabric would make a great accent to my son's Boy Scout pages!

I grabbed a scrap of fabric from an old project to add a ruffle at the bottom of this quick 6x8 layout for last year's October Daily album.

I have used some white fabric and die cut some hearts from it. I love the soft look it gives!

Our October challenges will end on October 28. I will be back later this week with our Top 3 and our picks for guest designers for November, along with our randomly picked winner.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you find time to create with us this week!
