Introducing Our July Guest Designer

Hello, everyone, and thanks for stopping by Lasting Memories Challenge Blog. It's Independence Day here in the United States, and I'm so excited to be celebrating our nation's 250th anniversary! Whether you are taking pictures today to scrap later, or are working on a vacation album or scrapping Christmas photos or even plugging away at your kid's school album, we are glad you decided to check out our blog and hope our challenges inspire your crafting.

My name is Deanne Clarke-Saunders. My hubby and I live in Paradise,

Newfoundland, Canada. I was an elementary teacher for 23 years but retired early. I am now an Early Childhood Educator (couldn’t stay away from the kiddies!!). I have always enjoyed playing with paper, scissors, glue, and ESPECIALLY crayons and pencil crayons, ever since I’ve been a small child. I just couldn’t stop playing, so I continued by scrapbooking and card-making! I love it!!! My hubby calls me a paper hoarder. He just MAY be right, but I’d never tell him that!!! A man doesn’t need to know he’s  right!!! haha!

Hello, my name is Jessica Shurts. I live in Minnesota with my husband and 5 kids ages 19, 17, 15, 13, and 7. I started scrapbooking when I was in high school. Between cooking meals, driving my kids to all their activities (lots of soccer and dance), and being a family and senior photographer, I love using fun papers and products to tell my family's stories and using my Cricut to make unique embellishments and titles for my layouts.

Introducing Our March Guest Designer

Hello everyone, and thanks for visiting us here at Lasting Memories, where it is always about layouts! Can you believer it's already the last day of February? That month flew by for me, with two weeks of torrential rain followed by two weeks of sunshine, but I got some scrapping done in the midst of it all. Hope you all got some memories scrapped in February, too.

I`m Vivi Casale, 58 yo, married to the love of my life, and live in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I have worked as a Secretary for over 30 years now, and since 2009 when I found out about card making and scrapbooking, I  have being enjoying my free time with those. I love to scrapbook the photos that I take during my travels; at this moment, I`m working with photos from my trip to Italy, France and Egypt. Greetings, everyone, and thanks for stopping by Lasting Memories Challenge Blog, where our focus is always on layouts. January is almost in the rear view mirror, so it's time to take a peek at what's ahead.  We have four new challenges in store this February, and we hope they inspire you to dig into your stash or go shopping for some new supplies so you can scrap the story of your life!

The new challenges start tomorrow, but today we want to introduce you to our February Guest Designer. She only recently started playing along with our challenges, but I have been a long time fan of her artwork. Please help us welcome Amanda.

My name is Amanda. I am a wife, mom to one son, one daughter and two doggies. I work part time as a physical therapist and spend the rest of my time chauffeuring my children to their many activities! I live in Canada and get most of my scrapbooking done during our cold winters! I started scrapbooking in 2006 and have grown more and more in love with the hobby every year. I love to make both layouts and cards. I keep all my scraps regardless how small and love to find ways to use them all! One of my favorite uses for them is journal strips – I include as much journaling as I can on my layouts to help preserve memories!

Introducing our January Guest Designer

Happy New Year, everyone, and thanks for stopping by Lasting Memories Challenge Blog, where our focus is always on layouts. Christmas is over and we are into a new year, so we hope you decide to print some of those pictures you took and get them scrapped using our fun challenges!

My name is Jael. I am a wife and mother to four kids, and I have 12 grandkids, 9 girls and 3 boys. I got introduced to scrapping by my sister in around 1998 when my youngest child was one year old. The cool thing now is that both my sisters scrap, too! We get together in the summer to scrap a few times at my house, when school is out. As you can tell from my layouts, I love colors. I always say my favorite color is RAINBOW! Now my grandkids say that, too. Last year my youngest daughter took up scrapping too, and she now has her own scrap room, so I give her lots of my supplies that I no longer want (I never throw anything away). My granddaughter Emma also scraps and does junk journaling, and I love to scrapbook with her when she spends the night at my house.

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you. Hope you had a safe Halloween and are ready for colder weather and autumnal scrapping opportunities (unless you're in the Southern hemisphere, in which case, warm and summer)!

Today we are announcing our guest designer for November. This lovely lady has guest designed for us several times previously, and her beautiful work is always creative and inspiring! Please help us welcome back Nelya.

Hi, everyone!

 My name is Nelya, and I’m originally from Ukraine. I’m a mommy of 4, and I love to scrapbook. I mostly got into it after having our first baby. My style has definitely evolved since then! I love to glean inspiration from other crafters; I think that’s how I was able to grow so much. Lately I’ve been loving using up my stash. The satisfaction I get from using up the last sticker on a sticker sheet, or paper from a paper pad is probably greater than I get when shopping for new supplies! I don’t have a space of my own yet, but I hope to in the future. Rarely do I complete a layout from start to finish in one sitting. Sometimes it takes me a few days or more, as often I’m only able to craft for small intervals at a time. I love to join in challenges! I’ve also focused more of my attention on journaling and story telling rather than a photo itself. I love to hear stories from my childhood, and want to make sure my kiddos have that too. I scrap in a variety of sizes: 12x12, 8.5x11, 6x8, and TN - as well as an occasional pocket page in any of those sizes!

Hi everyone! I'm Ella, which is a polish diminutive from Elisabeth. I come from Poland but have lived near to Ratisbon, Bawaria, Germany with my family since 2006. I have two sons (11 and 16 years old). I love to crochet and knit, and I also draw and paint. I've been interested in scrapbooking and cardmaking since 2016. I think it's some kind of art, too and my painting experience can be helpful in scrapbooking. For me, it's a wonderful way to spend my free time. Hi. My name is Haven, and I am excited to be back as a guest designer with Lasting Memories. I have been hit and miss this past summer with my crafting taking a back seat to some fun adventures. My husband and I celebrated 30 years of marriage this past August with a trip to Hood River, Oregon. I keep telling myself that I will make time to scrapbook, but it's my last child's senior year, so I'll be taking it season to season. Hi everyone, I’m Barbara Greenberg and I live in Columbia, Missouri. I started scrapping back in 2008 while I was recovering from a broken ankle and staying at home a lot. I was addicted to it immediately. Since I retired over 10 years ago, there has not been a day I’ve missed scrapping unless I was out making memories. I love to scrap about road trips, Christmas and of course my grandkids. All of that gives me plenty to do. I love following sketches and getting inspiration there or working from subject prompts & ideas. I love patterned papers and so many time that is all I use other than cardstock to mat pictures or mat the patterned papers to let them stand out.

Hello! I'm Connie Corrigan and I'm excited to be a guest designer for September. I've been married to my husband Jim for over 27 years and we have a fur-baby cat named Murphy (she's 15). I've been scrapbooking since my niece was born in 2000 and my sister declared we needed to get our heritage in books for her. I love following sketches to create my pages but I'll use all sorts of prompts. I have a full-time job at a local community college (we live just north of Philadelphia, PA). When not working or scrapbooking you can usually find me in a national park as I attempt to visit the over 400 units (parks, battlefields, national monuments, etc.) across the country. Hi my name is Alicia O'Bryant.  I have lived in Ohio for the last 20 plus years.  I raised my son there but we are now empty nesters.  My situation makes for more time to craft and travel.  I have been crafting since high school and have played around with many media but paper has a special place in my heart.  Photography is also my passion, making scrapbooking the perfect craft for me!  I have scrapped thousands of pages over the years and truly appreciate the ideas and challenges from blogs like Lasting Memories to help keep my pages looking fresh.  I am excited to be a guest designer for July. Hi everyone! My name is Heidi and I live in Orange County in sunny Southern California. I live with my husband and 2 kitties Jupiter and Europa. I started scrapbooking almost 20 years ago when it was offered as an elective at my high school (can you believe it?!) and I haven’t stopped since. My favorite way to create a page is to start with a sketch and a color palette and then pull everything from my stash in those colors. I never know what I’ll end up using on a layout. I have lots of hobbies like yoga, reading books and video games, but I love the creative outlet that scrapbooking provides me. It allows me to connect with my memories on a more meaningful level than just scrolling through my phone. Thank you so much for having me at Lasting Memories as this month’s guest designer. Hello everyone! I hope that you are all having a great weekend.

I just wanted to pop in really quickly to introduce our guest designer for April! Please give a warm welcome to the super talented Haven.

Hi. My name is Haven and I love sketches. I get inspiration and a creative boost from using a good sketch, and with my recent scrap time being extremely limited these last few months I find that a good sketch is just what I need to get back into the flow. When I'm not creating, working or coaching I enjoy spending time outdoors. I have some big plans for this spring and summer, so you'll have to make sure you follow me to see all the beautiful nature pictures from my outings. I love playing along with the challenges and getting inspiration from the design team of Lasting Memories. I think their challenges are some of the best but I might be biased as I'm a former DT (2012-2017).

Hello there - my name is Wendy Crowe and I am so excited to be Guest Designer again here at Lasting Memories. I always love the fun mix of challenges - every month they come up with great ideas to create creative pages. I have been scrapping for over 20 years and have amassed quite the “collection” of goodies and these challenges certainly make me dig deep to use my stash. I have recently become a grandmother, so now I can start all over again scrapping fun pages for my granddaughter. My 3 kids love my hobby and are always willing to make sure I have lots of pictures to work with. I also have 2 kitties that like to “help” me with my pages. My style is simple, but I love trying new ideas and techniques. Lasting Memories sure helps me with that! I’m looking forward to sharing more fun pages and ideas with you all!
