 Hello, everyone! Welcome back to Lasting Memories - we are so happy that you stopped by today! We are just days away from the first of November and that means we have a new theme and a new set of challenges all ready to go!

DT member Lori K. has picked our theme for November and it is a favorite around here - sketches! Here is what she has to say about it - I find sketch challenges to be very difficult, but once I have completed the sketch I love the page and I love how it gets me out of my comfort zone.

LM #619 - Mood Board/Color Inspiration Week #1

Hello, hello! Welcome back to Lasting Memories! It is the start of a new month and that means that it is time for a new theme and a new set of challenges.

Before we get to that, we have some exciting news to share. Our September Guest Designer - Brandi - has agreed to stay on as a full-time designer for Lasting Memories! She will be joining us later on in the month so be on the lookout for her lovely layouts!

Introducing October's Guest Designers!!

Hello, everyone, and Happy October 1st!  I can't believe that it is already time to introduce our October Guest Designers!

For October we have two talented scrappers joining us. Please help us give a warm welcome to Jane and Lynda! 

October GDT - Jane

I have been scrapping now for over fifteen years using this wonderful craft as both my creative outlet and a way to preserve my family’s precious memories. My hobby has become somewhat of an obsession and is now a very large part of my life – my overflowing craft space can attest to that! My personal layout style has evolved over the years and while I will happily try a mix of varied products and techniques, I do tend to lean towards a clean, relatively simple style with heavy emphasis on white space. I like to capture not only those special events in the lives of my family but also our everyday moments too. I am a major fan of challenges and am particularly drawn to gaining inspiration from mood boards and colour themes for my pages.

Hi, I’m Lynda. I’m excited to introduce myself this month as a guest designer here at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges. I have 2 grown children, as well as 1 granddaughter & another on the way. We all live in Kentucky. I am a semi-retired speech pathologist. I have been scrapbooking for about 20 years. I love to make not only layouts but cards & mini-albums also. I find most of my inspiration from photos & patterned paper. I like doing challenges because they make me step out of my comfort zone. Most of my creations are posted at instagram.com/scraphousemom. LM #618 - Out of Your Comfort Zone - Tools

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to Lasting Memories - we are so happy that you have stopped by today! I can't believe that September is almost over and it is already time for our last challenge of the month! Before we get to this week's challenge, I want to say a big thank you to our guest designers for September - Brandi, and Sarah. It has been a pleasure working with both of these ladies and I have certainly enjoyed seeing their work each week.

Now, on to this week's challenge. For September our theme has been - Out of your comfort zone - and we have been challenging you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new or different this month. Our last challenge for the month is:

LM #618 - Tools - we all have tools in our craft rooms that we never use.  Perhaps you bought the latest punch board but it's still in the wrapper or your Cricut is collecting dust.  Let's pull out those tools and put them to use this week!

LM #617 - Out of Your Comfort Zone - Embellishments

Happy Sunday and welcome back to Lasting Memories! I hope that you have had a good week and are ready for a new challenge!

For September our theme has been - Out of Your Comfort Zone - and we have been challenging you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new or different than what you normally do. This week's challenge is:

LM #617 - Embellishments - We tend to stick to the same embellishments on our layouts.  Perhaps you use mostly stickers and chipboard but rarely use wood veneer.  Maybe you're obsessed with enamel dots and don't use flair or washi.  For this week, choose embellishments that you rarely use.

LM #616 - Out Of Your Comfort Zone - Patterns

 Hello and welcome back to Lasting Memories! We are so happy that you have stopped by today! 

It is time for a new challenge and it is another fun one! Our theme for September is -  Out of your comfort zone - and we are challenging you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new or different! This week's challenge is:

 LM #616 - Pattern - think about your layouts and the patterned papers you tend to use and go outside of your comfort zone.  Do you typically begin with a solid color background or a patterned paper background? Do you tend to go with smaller patterns or large bold patterns?   For this layout, use the opposite of your normal patterns.

I typically reach for more simple patterns, such as tone on tone or basic geometric shapes, so I grabbed a larger themed icon paper for this layout.
