Our "Scrappy" Friends!

Welcome!

Hello fellow scrapbookers!!! Welcome to "Lasting Memories" which is all about LAYOUTS!! Yes, JUST layouts! There are no cards allowed here. We have weekly themed challenges, but you have the whole month to get in on the fun! Our challenges begin each Sunday at 8am EST and all 4 challenges will end on the date listed on the sidebar at 6pm EST. At month's end, we will choose a GDT to join us for a month! Only one entry per challenge, and no back-linking is allowed since we would love to know that we "challenged" you. We look forward to challenging you and helping you get your pages completed!

Specialized Hosting Sites

A lot of crafters use specialized hosting sites that not all of us have access to. We just wanted to let you know that if we don't comment, it's because we don't have access - but we see your work here at LM and appreciate your taking the time to link up and show off your style!!

LM #777 - Picture Book Inspiration: The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Good morning, everyone. This is design team member Cheryl from rainy Southern California. Yes, you read that correctly! Fall has finally hit So Cal with a deluge of rain, so it's a great day for me to stay indoors and do some scrapbooking. How about you all? Whether it's raining or sunny or snowing where you are, I hope you have some time to get a layout done this week using our fun new challenge.

November is Picture Book Month, so I am calling on you to find inspiration from the picture books I selected, a mix of children's classics and one that my son loved when he was young. You can be inspired by anything about the book, from the storyline to the artwork to the title font, or anything else that speaks to you!

LM #777 - Be inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Here is the awesome design team inspiration, starting with our guest designer.

November GDT Nelya
She used lots of circles, and made sure to include butterflies.

I was inspired by the caterpillar!

Lisa
Inspired by the holes the caterpillar chewed (leaves and border) along with the butterfly the caterpillar changed into.

Inspired by the caterpillar's red head, the holes in the pages, and the butterfly.

Inspiration came from the colours, the creatures and the greenery.

Thanks to the design team for their great inspiration this week! Now it's your turn - link up your layouts to the linky below by Saturday, November 29th at 10 PM EST for a chance to be our guest designer for an upcoming month.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. We can't wait to see what you create!

Please include your name and the challenge number in your link-up description. Only one link-up per challenge.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

August and September Top 3 and Guest Designer Picks

Happy Saturday! Today we are announcing our Top 3 and Guest Design Team picks for August and September. We had fewer entries than usual for these months (hopefully you all were out making memories that you can add to your scrapbooks later), so I decided to combine the winners for these two months. August's challenges were all about Stash Busting, and September was all about patterned papers, and we had a total of 11 submissions for these challenges.

Here are our Top 3 for August and September:

Nelya - LM #762 Stash Busters Week 1

Haven - LM #769 Patterned Paper

Lori - LM #766 Polka Dots

And for our guest designer, I would like to invite Margaret to join us for a future challenge.

Congratulations to Margaret! Email Cheryl at chereven26@gmail.com to accept your guest designer spot and for more information.

Thanks again to everyone who played along with us in August and September! Be sure to check back tomorrow for our first November challenge.

Introducing Our November Guest Designer

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you. Hope you had a safe Halloween and are ready for colder weather and autumnal scrapping opportunities (unless you're in the Southern hemisphere, in which case, warm and summer)!

Today we are announcing our guest designer for November. This lovely lady has guest designed for us several times previously, and her beautiful work is always creative and inspiring! Please help us welcome back Nelya.

November GDT Nelya

Hi, everyone!
My name is Nelya, and I’m originally from Ukraine. I’m a mommy of 4, and I love to scrapbook. I mostly got into it after having our first baby. My style has definitely evolved since then! I love to glean inspiration from other crafters; I think that’s how I was able to grow so much. Lately I’ve been loving using up my stash. The satisfaction I get from using up the last sticker on a sticker sheet, or paper from a paper pad is probably greater than I get when shopping for new supplies! I don’t have a space of my own yet, but I hope to in the future. Rarely do I complete a layout from start to finish in one sitting. Sometimes it takes me a few days or more, as often I’m only able to craft for small intervals at a time. I love to join in challenges! I’ve also focused more of my attention on journaling and story telling rather than a photo itself. I love to hear stories from my childhood, and want to make sure my kiddos have that too. I scrap in a variety of sizes: 12x12, 8.5x11, 6x8, and TN - as well as an occasional pocket page in any of those sizes!

My layouts can be found here on Pinterest, as well as here on A Cherry On Top. I’ve also started making YouTube videos of my layouts: Nelya's Youtube.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! We will be back tomorrow with a new theme and a new challenge!
