LM #777 - Picture Book Inspiration: The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Good morning, everyone. This is design team member Cheryl from rainy Southern California. Yes, you read that correctly! Fall has finally hit So Cal with a deluge of rain, so it's a great day for me to stay indoors and do some scrapbooking. How about you all? Whether it's raining or sunny or snowing where you are, I hope you have some time to get a layout done this week using our fun new challenge.

November is Picture Book Month, so I am calling on you to find inspiration from the picture books I selected, a mix of children's classics and one that my son loved when he was young. You can be inspired by anything about the book, from the storyline to the artwork to the title font, or anything else that speaks to you!

August and September Top 3 and Guest Designer Picks

 Happy Saturday! Today we are announcing our Top 3 and Guest Design Team picks for August and September. We had fewer entries than usual for these months (hopefully you all were out making memories that you can add to your scrapbooks later), so I decided to combine the winners for these two months. August's challenges were all about Stash Busting, and September was all about patterned papers, and we had a total of 11 submissions for these challenges.

Introducing Our November Guest Designer

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you. Hope you had a safe Halloween and are ready for colder weather and autumnal scrapping opportunities (unless you're in the Southern hemisphere, in which case, warm and summer)!

Today we are announcing our guest designer for November. This lovely lady has guest designed for us several times previously, and her beautiful work is always creative and inspiring! Please help us welcome back Nelya.

Hi, everyone!

 My name is Nelya, and I’m originally from Ukraine. I’m a mommy of 4, and I love to scrapbook. I mostly got into it after having our first baby. My style has definitely evolved since then! I love to glean inspiration from other crafters; I think that’s how I was able to grow so much. Lately I’ve been loving using up my stash. The satisfaction I get from using up the last sticker on a sticker sheet, or paper from a paper pad is probably greater than I get when shopping for new supplies! I don’t have a space of my own yet, but I hope to in the future. Rarely do I complete a layout from start to finish in one sitting. Sometimes it takes me a few days or more, as often I’m only able to craft for small intervals at a time. I love to join in challenges! I’ve also focused more of my attention on journaling and story telling rather than a photo itself. I love to hear stories from my childhood, and want to make sure my kiddos have that too. I scrap in a variety of sizes: 12x12, 8.5x11, 6x8, and TN - as well as an occasional pocket page in any of those sizes!
