Our "Scrappy" Friends!

Welcome!

Hello fellow scrapbookers!!! Welcome to "Lasting Memories" which is all about LAYOUTS!! Yes, JUST layouts! There are no cards allowed here. We have weekly themed challenges, but you have the whole month to get in on the fun! Our challenges begin each Sunday at 8am EST and all 4 challenges will end on the date listed on the sidebar at 6pm EST. At month's end, we will choose a GDT to join us for a month! Only one entry per challenge, and no back-linking is allowed since we would love to know that we "challenged" you. We look forward to challenging you and helping you get your pages completed!

Specialized Hosting Sites

A lot of crafters use specialized hosting sites that not all of us have access to. We just wanted to let you know that if we don't comment, it's because we don't have access - but we see your work here at LM and appreciate your taking the time to link up and show off your style!!

Introducing June's Guest Designers

Hello, everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a good start! Can you believe it is already June? I am so ready for the long lazy days of summer!

Today we are announcing our guest designers for June. Please help us welcome Rona and Sharon! These ladies are super talented and I know they are going to inspire you each week!
June GDT - Rona

My name is Rona Mallard and I am happy to be a guest designer this month! I am now a stay at home grandma of two little boys who keep me very busy while momma and daddy work.  I have been scrapbooking and cardmaking for over 20 years and really enjoy staying current with the trends by watching youtube videos and entering challenges. I love to see what others are doing and I love to keep my style changing to keep my books fresh and interesting to look through.

I am on Instagram - scraprona

Hi!  I’m thrilled to be a GD this month and really hope people like my layouts.  A little about me, I’ve been married to a wonderful hubby Lee for 16 years and we have two gorgeous boys - Alexander & Nicholas and a beautiful daughter Cassandra.  I started scrapbooking when my eldest (now 15) was born as it was something I could do with my amazing Mum.  My family tends to be the focus of my scrapbooking. I love to ensure there’s a button or two on my layouts and at the moment, I’m experimenting with mixed media – stencils, paint and a bit of texture paint too.

In between juggling my family and finding the time to scrap, I’m busy preparing for September 2019 as that sees me start my year’s training to become a teacher.

I have a blog where I post my layouts and general life stuff too:http://www.mrsmanic.co.uk/ Please feel free to check it out.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for our June theme and the first of four new challenges.

I will be announcing April and May's Top 3, GDT Picks, and winners on Monday.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you find time to create with us this week!

Announcing Our New Design Team

Hello, everyone! Today we are excited to announce our new design team members!

We are so happy to have Mindy, Toni, and Connie joining our fabulous team!

Mindy

I am so excited to be on the Lasting Memories DT! My name is Mindy, I live in Ohio with my husband. We have a blended family of 2 boys and 2 girls plus 6 grandbabies and one more on the way in June!
Scrapbooking has been my passion for over 20 years!! I just started a blog when I found this challenge site so I am very new at that, but I enjoy learning new things!

Mindy was our guest designer in April and you can see more of her wonderful work on her blog - Life of a Scrapbooking Grandma!

Toni

G'Day from Australia scrappers. Toni Herron here and so happy to be joining the talented Lasting Memories DT. I am 32yrs old, live in a beautiful sunny part of central Queensland in a small coastal town called Yeppoon. I have two very active and sporty boys Lane 16yrs and Hunter (will be 9yrs next month). My life and most of my layouts focus and feature my boys. My favourite colour, however, is Pink, so I take great pleasure in being able to have any opportunity to do up very pretty girly layouts of my own selfies every now and again too. Besides crafting my main passion is being a Chief Steward / Official at the Speedway (dirt track oval racing), baking, reading and watching movies/tv shows.
After a couple of years break, I'm now back into my crafting and loving every moment of it. I would like to Thank the LM DT for allowing me to join them and can't wait to share my creations with you that can hopefully inspire you to get scrapping yourself.

LM #448 - Stamp Your Stash - Stamp Free For All

Hello, everyone! Good Sunday morning to you! We hope that you are having a good weekend. It's a long holiday weekend here in the US and it's also the "unofficial" start of summer.

Before we get to the last challenge for the month, I would like to say a big thank you to our guest designers for May - JoyceAnn, Rima, and Louise. It has been great seeing their beautiful layouts this month.

Now,  on to the last challenge - our theme for May has been "Stamp Your Stash" and our last challenge is:

LM #448 - Stamp Free-for-all - Pick your favorite technique from the month or one you haven't yet used and stamp on your scrapbook page!

Youtube is a fabulous place for stamping inspiration, just add a little imagination to convert cardmaking ideas to your scrapbook pages. I hope this month of challenges has inspired you to bust our your stamp stash and use it, and/or to try new techniques in your scrapbooking!

Here's a look at the design team creations - starting with our guest designers:

My favorite way to add stamping to my layouts is to make my own stamped embellishments. Here I heat embossed the bird and flowers, added a little watercolor and fussy cut them out. I also like to have stamping on the background. And along with fussy cut embellishments I like to stamp sentiments then pen around and cut out.

Lauren
I stamped the sweaters on white cardstock, colored them and fussy cut them.

Deanna

I used my favorite 'Tiny Triangle' Stamp and some misting to add a distressed look to my layout.

Denise
I jumped into my stamps and used lots of them...

Natalie
I stamped a sentiment & fussy cut some peach icons!

Now it's your turn - link up your layouts by Saturday, June 1st for a chance to be our guest designer and for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to an online store of choice!
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you find time to create with us this week!

LM #447 - Stamp Your Stash - Sentiment Stamps

Hello, everyone! Good Sunday morning to you! We hope that you are having a good weekend.

It's time for a new challenge here at Lasting Memories today. Our theme for May is "Stamp Your Stash" and this week our challenge is:

LM #447 - Sentiment Stamps - Although many stamp sets are geared towards card makers, we can easily use the sentiments on our scrapbook pages as well. Think outside the box on the meaning some sentiments can portray and match with your photos. Use sentiments to create your own die cut embellishments. Use a sentiment as a title for your scrapbook layout or within your journaling.

Here's a look at the creations from the design team - starting with our guest designers:

This "Merry Christmas" sentiment stamp PERFECTLY matched the pillow in this photo, so I just had to use it for this challenge!

Now it's your turn - link up your layouts by Saturday, June 1st for a chance to be our guest designer and for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to an online store of choice!

LM #446 - Stamp Your Stash - Tiny Stamps

Hello, everyone! Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there! I hope you all have a wonderful day today!

Before we get to this week's challenge - just a reminder that our DT Call ends on Tuesday, so get those applications in! You can read all about it here.

The theme for the month of May here at Lasting Memories is - Stamp Your Stash - and this week's challenge is:

LM #446 -Tiny Stamps - Today I challenge you to find a tiny stamp you love & USE it to create continuity throughout your layout.

Repeat your tiny stamp to create a pattern with a custom color scheme, use your tiny stamp within your journaling to drive home the point of your story. There are a variety of ways to take your tiny stamp a long way on your page!

Here's a look at the design team's beautiful creations - starting with our Guest Designers:

I used a sea star and stamped it in a cascade pattern in various shades across my layout.

I used tiny snowflake stamps inside the snow globe.

Denise
I used a tiny phrases roller stamp and a tiny star stamp from cats on appletrees. You can see it lying on my layout. ;-)

I used a tiny cross stamp to use a color scheme I didn't have many papers to match - to make my own patterned paper!

I used a tiny scribble stamp as part of my accent border.

Now it's your turn - link up your layouts by Saturday, June 1st for a chance to be our guest designer and for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to an online store of choice!

And - I just realized that I owe you all a Top 3, Winner, and GDT pick for April. I will get them posted asap!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you find time to create with us this week!

LM #445 - Stamp Your Stash - Patterned Stamps

Before we get to this week's challenge I want to give a quick reminder that our design team call ends on May 14th. We would love to have you on the team. You can read all about it in this post here.

The theme for the month of May here at Lasting Memories is - Stamp Your Stash - and this week's challenge is:

LM #445 - Patterned Stamps - Find a patterned stamp to create interest on your page. Make a patterned layering or background paper, use patterns to create texture and interest on a page background, emboss and resist a pattern, add pattern to your mixed media background, get messy!

Here are the beautiful layouts from the design team - starting with our guest designers:

Deanna

Natalie
I glitter embossed this polka dot pattern before painting atop, and the glitter embossing resisted the paint so well - a favorite way to create a background with stamps!

Wow! Such beautiful inspiration for you today! Now it's your turn - link up your layouts by Saturday, June 1st for a chance to be our guest designer and for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to an online store of choice!

Introducing May's Guest Designers

Happy Saturday scrappy friends!

It's time to introduce our guest designers for May. First, we would like to say a big thank you to Mindy for being our April guest designer. We loved sharing her beautiful work with you each week.

Now, please help us welcome our May Guest Designers - Louise, Rima, and Joyce Ann!

First up is Louise:

I am a retired electrical engineer living in suburban New Jersey with my husband and our 2 teenage sons. My sons both run competitively and we love watching them compete.

I started scrapbooking in 2002 as a creative outlet from my otherwise crazy life as a working Mom. What started as a little hobby has grown into a passion and expanded to include card-making as well. My other interests include travel, running, and reading.

You can see more of Louise's work on her blog - Wide World of Scraps.

Next up is Rima:

Hello everyone! I am Rima and I am very excited to be a GD for “Lasting Memories” this month. I was born in Lithuania but have been living in Ireland for +14 years with my husband and our two sons Tomas and Benas. Although my life is quite busy, I try to find a little time for my art therapy and to sneak away to my craft room. I create A4 format (30cm*21cm) layouts and a patterned paper is my favourite product, and I would be lost without a ruler. I post my layouts on my blog and you are very welcome to visit it! https://papermomentsbyrima.blogspot.com/

Next is Joyce Ann

I’m delighted to be sharing my layouts with all of you this month from sunny
central Florida’s east coast. I’ve given up most of my beach time for creating
layouts and other creative adventures. My love of taking pictures from childhood
led me to scrapbooking very early. Many styles are now gathered in my albums,
but the one thing that made the biggest impact happened around 2006 when I was
introduced to stamps and ink. This opened up my world of creating and most of my
layouts now have at least a little bit of something inky. I think my style is still
evolving, but my subjects are mostly my great grands, who are at the top of my list
of loves. So excited to be a special part of Lasting Memories Layout challenges this
month!
